BOOK OF THE MONTH CONTEST
Noooooo, not book of the month club. Even though I’m trying to stick to my resolution of reading more this year, I know there’s no way I’d stick to it good enough to try starting a club. Besides, reading clubs tend to bore me. ;o) I’m not much on organized social type groupings.
But contests are fun. I like buying books. I like reading them. I like telling people about the ones I loved.
That’s where the contest comes in. The BOMC will serve a couple of purposes.
- A way to encourage myself on the ‘reading more‘ goal.
- A way to share a good book with others
- Contests=good, easy promo
So that’s the purpose of the BOMC. Feel free to offer suggestions on future books, share your opinions, etc.
The Rules (cuz things are a little easier with rules)
- The contest will run from through the blog ONLY. No email entries, sorry.
- The contest will run from basically from the beginning of the month, to the end.
- To enter, simply leave a comment for the current BOMC book. IE: January’s BOMC is Crazy Hot. All you have to do is comment. *Yes I loved it, Never heard of it, Didn’t care for it, Might check it out….*all of these count. Tell us what you liked about it, without leaving spoilers. If you didn’t care for the book, that’s fine. You can tell us why. Your honest opinion is welcome, however, if you bash any book or the author, your comment will be deleted and you won’t be entered. There are ways to tell me that you didn’t like the book without insulting the author.
- NOTE… THIS IS NOT THE CONTEST THREAD. This is the thread that explains about the contest so I don’t have to retype the rules every time. Comments left in this thread will NOT be entered in the drawing.
- I’ll draw a random winner from everybody who comments at the end of the month. Prizes will vary. It may be the book we’re discussing, or it may be one of mine, or it may be something else entirely
- Contests are open to everyone and everywhere. So long as you actually live here on Earth.

I know that book clubs can be boring, but I’m involved in one on line and I LOVE IT. It is a friend’s website and we all post up to 3 books we want to read and we vote on them. Then we read the winner and just post comments about it on the site. We set up a reading schedule, but it is on line so you don’t have to stick by it and can read at your own pace. This is much easier than meeting somewhere to discuss the book and I’ve found myself reading stuff that I would never have picked for my self!

I think online bookclubs would probably suit me better, BUT I procrastinate online way too much anyway.
Last thing I need is another way to play online.

I loved Blood Bound. I think it was even better than Moon Called. I gobbled it up in one evening. Mercy is a great character and she has 3 hot guys in her life, but she determined to do things her own way despite what they want. I highly recommend this book.

I have a question about your book of the month? What was last month book, and are you pick these books as ebooks or pb? Or is it going to be some of both? icia

Hey, Icia… both, either or….
you know me, whatever catches my attention. Last month was Crazy Hot.
This month is Blood Bound.

Do you send out copies to other countries, or just the US?
February 7, 2007 at 2:02 pm
Everywhere. I have readers everywhere so it’s only fair to keep my contests open to everywhere.
